Pretty basic start of the day

We all woke up after the show feeling good, ready to head out and have a nice day and it was kind of overcast. Thought it was gonna rain. So we ended up going back to Guardian Games to play Mysterium (that game is super cool) as they were having a Spiderman MTG pre-release. I didn’t participate in the pre-release but it looks like it was a lot of fun. Mysterium was sicker though. I got some “hop water” which is alcohol free water that just tastes like hops. It was kinda good to be honest and it’s fizzy, which is always a plus in my book. We stayed there well into the afternoon until we had our escape room appointment where we would prove whether we were MENSA GAWDS or mental midgets.

Escape Room PDX

I don’t remember the actual name of the place, but we arrived WAY ahead of time. They were just setting the room back up from the prior group. There were 2 different rooms we were thinking of trying, one of which was a 12 person room (we have 5, so that one would have been giga-hard) or the 6 person room. We opted for the 6 person so it was a Film Noir theme. Someone had been murdered! We needed to find the proof, the perp and the motive. Now, I’m not gonna toot my own horn but we absolutely _crushed_ the escape room. I think we came in 7th, with 2 people having never done these rooms before. The theme was super cool and the room was dope. I really had a lot of fun. I love escape rooms. I think if I could, I would own/start/build one. Like, putting it all together is really fun and it feels like every reason I love to be a DM in D&D because I like presenting puzzles and seeing how people solve them. It was surprisingly expensive ($45/pp for a 60 minute window) but imo it was worth it. I love puzzles lol.

Black Magic Hot Sauces from Hell

After the escape room, we went to this really cool taqueria and brewhouse nearby. Las Brujas or something similar. It was satanic themed and the tables had bench seating in the form of company branded church pews. I always love a hellishly good time, so count me in! I grabbed some “Unholy Water” which was just more sparkling Hop water, and a San Diego Burrito as well as their hottest sauce. I’ll start with the drink.

The Unholy water was pretty good. It was a bit more mild than the hop water I’d had earlier, so that was cool. The beers looked really good and I’m sure they were. Enough so that Cleve bought like 12 to take home. I think both Dave and Joe got cups and Cleve bought a shirt for his SO. I didn’t buy anything but I was really digging the vibes and I enjoyed the branding. The place’s symbol was like, a crescent moon with an earthen symbol hanging off of it straight down. Arcane vibes for sure.

The burrito was super good. Carne Asada and Shrimp. The other 4 had fish tacos and I was the only one who got a burrito. It was massive though and I had trouble finishing it. I added a ton of the hottest sauce to it and it was very hot. I think it made Dave and Paul suffer pretty badly, and I think Cleve handled it fine but didn’t want a ton. I just love suffering so the more it hurts the more I’ll add lol. I’m not a masochist, I swear. But jokes aside, it was habanero peppers apparently but I think it felt more like a carolina reaper. It was pretty hot. No regerts [sic].

Dante’s Inferno Satanic Burlesque Show

Sadly we DIDN’T go to this, because no one wanted to join me. I think that sounds super fun, but I am apparently in the minority lol. Who wouldn’t enjoy some drinks, some drag and some dancing? Ah well. Maybe next time. I am gonna check to see if it’s open tonight and maybe I’ll go. I really don’t wanna wake my roommate in the hostel, and I might even have more roommates as people filter in throughout the day.

We’ll see. Alright, tomorrow morning I’m gonna wake up and update you on what I did today before I leave for my flight home!
